This is no April Fools

NO JOKE:  hundreds, thousands were out and about in Kerrville during the Easter weekend!  Numbers were over 1,100 cyclists who traveled the country side during the 40th Easter Hill Country Tour.  More than 120 participants strutted their stuff during the Family Sports Center 5K walk/run.  President of Guadalupe National Bank and Mardi Gras 2013 King, Mr. Kenneth Early won the bar-b-que cook-off at Here’s to the Heroes Easter Fest and Cook-Off.  There were Easter eggs all over town and the county with plenty of searchers and finders.  To check to see if you, or someone you know, made it in the pictures pick up a copy of the Kerrville Daily Times, or look them up online at http://dailytimes.com/multimedia/photos/

At the First Presbyterian Church the Camerata String Sextets will perform at 7:30 p.m. on this Thursday, while the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center have two exhibits on display running through most of April.  Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. the Dog Agility Competition begins and runs until 3:00 p.m.  “Tigers Be Still” premiers this Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. on the campus of the Hill Country Arts Foundation at the Indoor Theater and “Barefoot in the Park” also begins on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Cailloux Theater.

This Friday the Riverside Nature Center will unveil their newly renovated Visitors Center, with First Friday WineShare to follow on the grounds.  Ribbon-cutting for the “Guadalupe: Our River Life” celebrating the Visitors Center renovations: this is the first of many exhibitions to spotlight the many facets of natural resource stewardship.  Attendees are urged to arrive early to see the butterflies, enjoy the awakening gardens and to stroll the River Trail.  First Friday WineShare follows at 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.  Bring a bottle of wine per couple, or one bottle every alternating month for singles.  Please be sure your wineglass is unbreakable, and unique because that could be a great conversation starter itself!  If you need or want further details call 830.257.0625 or visit www.kerrvilletexascvb.com.

For anyone who celebrated Easter at any of the events and would like to show off their pictures, please send them in and we’ll get them posted on our Facebook and Pinterest pages, into our MY Kerrville album.  We still have only one picture of a sunset over the river and we want to add more of this city from your point-of-view!

The City of Kerrville has some great upcoming events and groups visiting.  It is never a dull moment in our office or in our city so make sure to check out the events calendar on our website to plan your trip accordingly.

We can’t wait to see you!
